Memorial Oration Award

The Society invites an eminent Scientist to deliver memorial oration each year and presents the distinguished guest with a silver trophy.

This year, i.e., 2009, the annual Dr.K.V.Rao Memorial Oration was delivered by the eminent scientist, Padmashri Dr. Lalji Singh, Director, Centre for Cellular & Molecular Biology, Hyderabad.

Year 2008:
Prof. P. Rama Rao, Former Secretary, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India. He spoke on Promoting Science & Technology in India – Evolution of Institutions and Mechanism“

Year 2007:
Dr. B. Sesikeran, Director, National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad, was the Oration Speaker. He spoke on “Life Style and Disease”.

Year 2006:
Dr.Indiranath , Member, Scientific Advisory Committee to Cabinet, Director, Blue Peter Research Centre, Hyderabad, was the Oration Speaker. She spoke on “ Pursuit of Science - From Laboratory to Society “

Dr. (Mrs.) K. Vijaya Kumari, Member Secretary, Andhra Pradesh State Council of Science and Technology, Hyderabad, was the Guest of Honour at the function.

Year 2005:
Padma Shri Dr.Gullapalli N.Rao , Distinguished Chair of Eye Health, L.V. Prasad Eye Hospital, Hyderabad.

Padma Bhushan Dr.Varaprasad Reddy, Managing Director, Shanta Biotechnics P Ltd. was the Chief Guest at the function.

Year 2004:
Dr.K.P.C.Gandhi , Director, Andhra Pradesh Forensic Science Laboratory, Hyderabad.

Prof.Kakarla Subba Rao, Director, Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad, was the Chief Guest at the function. Prof.J.M.Naidu, Member-Secretary, Andhra Pradesh State Council of Science & Technology, Hyderabad was the Guest of Honour.

Year 2003:
Dr.K.V.Raghavan , Director, Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad.

Dr.G.Shyam Sunder, Vice Chancellor, NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada, Dr.B.Siva Kumar, Director, National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad were the Guests of Honour at this function.

Year 2002:
Dr.Seyed E.Hasnain , Director, Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics, Hyderabad.

The Chief Guest at the function was Mr.P.C.Mondal, Director General, Geological Survey of India, Kolkata.

Year 2001:
Prof.K.Subba Rao , Head of Biochemistry Department, School of Life Sciences, University of Hyderabad

Dr. Kamala Krishnaswamy, Director, National Institution of Nutrition, Hyderabad, Dr.B.G.Sidharth, Director, BM Birla Science Centre were the Chief Guests at the function.
